On May 4 (May 5 Japan time), at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, USA, a Top Rank event was held. The co-main event featured a 12-round WBO World Featherweight Title match. Champion Rafael Espinoza (Mexico), undefeated in 26 bouts (22 KOs), faced the No. 10 contender Edward Vazquez (USA), who had a record of 17 wins (4 KOs), 2 losses, and 1 no contest. Espinoza secured a TKO victory at 1 minute 47 seconds of the 7th round.

This was Espinoza’s third title defense. Vazquez was making his second world title challenge. In the first round, the 185 cm tall Espinoza adjusted to the movement of Vazquez, who was 15 cm shorter, targeting him with jabs followed by left and right uppercuts. Vazquez tried to roll his upper body and look for chances to close the distance, but he struggled to get inside.

In the second round, Espinoza engaged in close combat, landing a left uppercut followed by a left to the body, then a right uppercut. When distance opened up, he mixed in jabs and right straights. In the third round, Vazquez advanced with a high guard, aiming for Espinoza’s body, but Espinoza responded with a right uppercut. Espinoza’s right straight to the body stopped Vazquez’s movement.

In the fourth round, as Vazquez advanced, Espinoza countered with short combinations and, when distance opened up, unleashed straight punches in succession. A right uppercut to the body halted Vazquez's movement, leaving him exposed to Espinoza’s continuous combinations and accumulating damage.

In the fifth round, Vazquez retreated after taking a right uppercut, and Espinoza followed up with a left to the body. Vazquez curled up and desperately defended himself. Espinoza attempted to finish the fight with fast, continuous combinations, but Vazquez somehow endured.

In the sixth round, Espinoza landed consecutive left and right uppercuts in close quarters. When space opened up, he delivered a right uppercut and straight punches, followed by body shots. Against Espinoza’s skillful attacks, Vazquez had no effective response.

In the seventh round, a right uppercut from Espinoza sent Vazquez backward. Espinoza then landed a damaging left to the body and launched a flurry of punches to press the advantage. Seeing Vazquez trapped in the corner and unable to defend effectively, referee Harvey Dock (USA) stopped the fight. Espinoza achieved a dominant victory, successfully defending his title for the third time.
