 在4月15日（日本時間16日）於英國倫敦舉行的WBO世界重量級臨時王座戰中，中國拳手張志磊擊敗英國冠軍喬・喬伊斯，在第6回合1分23秒以TKO勝出，成為亞洲首位世界重量級拳王。這場比賽於中國當地時間凌晨5點開始播出，吸引超過1300萬人收看。目前已有聲音呼籲，希望張志磊的下一場比賽能在中國舉行。

The undisputed heavyweight title fight between WBO, WBC, and WBA Super world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (Ukraine) — 23 wins (14 KOs), undefeated — and IBF world heavyweight mandatory challenger Daniel Dubois (UK) — 22 wins (21 KOs), 2 losses — has been officially announced by Queensberry Promotions. The bout will take place on July 19 (July 20 Japan time) at Wembley Stadium in London. The event will be broadcast on DAZN. The two fighters will meet again for the first time since their previous clash on August 26, 2023 (August 27 Japan time) at the Tarczynski Arena in Wroclaw, Poland. In their first encounter, Usyk secured a KO victory at 48 seconds of the ninth round. However, in the fifth round, Dubois landed a right body uppercut that sent Usyk to the canvas.
